And baby is fine, swaddles, breathing perfectly normally. We would all be sleeping 6 or more hours at night ac41 for the alarm going off for no reason. This thing honestly just causes more anxiety.
I’m a light sleeper so having this thing next to me makes it zngelcare to sleep. The audio cuts out for several seconds at a time. Overall I wish we hadn’t wasted our money. We bought this before baby was born and didn’t put it to use until he angelxare sleeping in his crib at 3 months so the manufacturer wouldn’t take it back. We bought these when we had our first baby and they worked well.
AC401 Parent Unit
We have a thick crib mattress and the sensor kept going off. Our baby was very small. One person found this helpful. This is an excellent product. It does take some tweaking to get xngelcare settings correct but this is easy to accomplish. It gave me a great sense of security when the baby was a4c01 into his own room.
Very happy with this purchase. There are the best monitors. They pick up everything in the room without all of the ambient noises. I would recommend it to anyone.
I bought this at a liquidation outlet in my local town when I was pregnant. I was half the price as retail, so I figured I better snatch it up rather than put it on my baby registry! We have used this for 15 months so far and are still in love! As a paramedic and first time mother, angelvare a monitor with an apnea alarm was very important to me! It took a lot of work to get it all setup the way I wanted, but the instructions are very clear wngelcare understandable!
We have one parent unit in our living room and another parent unit in our bedroom at my bedside table.
Angelcare AC401 Baby Breathing Movement and Audio Monitor with Wired Sensor Pad
I originally set the sensor pad up under her “basinest” beside our bed while we breastfed. Once we moved her to her crib in her own room, this monitor works even more conveniently!
We have it setup so that the monitor opens up whenever she makes any noise and sometimes I’ll wake up because the monitor has opened up due to her rolling over or something, but that’s how we prefer it! We also have the pendulum silenced, but on. The pendulum swings back and forth to signify that the pad is picking up movement.
Usually, when I first lay down in bed, I roll over to where I can see the parent unit and watch the pendulum rock back and forth. It’s really just added peace of mind for me! As our baby has gotten more mobile, we have had more frequent false alarms wake us up in the middle of the night. Usually, it’s because she has rolled herself up into a ball in the corner of her bed and the pad can’t sense any movement. I always run in her room scared to death, and she never even wakes up! I just scoot her back over the pad and go back to bed.
I would rather have several false alarms than no alarm at all if she were to ever stop breathing so we don’t plan on getting rid of this monitor anytime soon! I have had other parents tell us that they continued to use this monitor when their children moved into toddler beds to let them know when their children got out of bed and I think that’s a great idea! You can select the option to be alerted if the baby unit get’s unplugged or loses power.
We did that for awhile, but then turned that option off because every time you turn the baby unit off when not in use because the apnea alarm will go off if you leave it on and there’s no movement you would also have to turn both parent units off or they would continuously beep.
We live in a new construction neighborhood and a few months ago started getting really loud random static sounds throughout the day in one of our parent units. I just changed the channel and we haven’t had that problem again. The biggest thing I want to share is that the sensor pad can pickup movement from other sources than your baby! One day I got baby up from a nap and forgot to turn her monitor off. We went in the living room and started playing and about 15 minutes later our clothes dryer cutoff.
A few seconds after that like the 15 or so it takes for the apnea alarm to go offthe apnea alarm started going off! I was really surprised that the monitor picked up movement from the clothes dryer.
It’s two rooms down the hallway from the baby’s room. It wasn’t that big of deal for us though because we don’t generally dry clothes in the middle of the night and if I need to do laundry while she naps, I just keep a close eye on her and the pendulum on the parent unit.
This monitor is very advanced and does so many good things, but it will only work correctly if you follow the instructions and set it up correctly! This includes the correct placement of the sensor pad and cords, using the cord covers, using the piece of wood under the sensor pad for stabilization. I read over the instructions several times and spent probably hours on setup both times I’ve set this up with her “Basinest” and with her crib in her room!
The most important thing about this monitor for me was the apnea alarm!
