Each problem, combination, and game is keyed to an easy-to-follow solution at the back of the book, so readers can learn as they go. The bulk of the book is comprised of board layouts, with roughly eight games per page; the illustrations are very useful, an enormous improvement over Silman who makes heavy use of chess notation in numbered, paragraph form. One thing I don’t like is that, while the book is good for players who are lower rated, telling me I have a mate in 1, 2 or 3 instead of leaving it a mystery kinda defeats the purpose of looking for the tactics in my mind.

The format is one puzzle per page. Chapters are organized by problem type. Maybe combijations figured out an answer cness yourself: This reduces the transferability of the practice to actual play. There is a link in each puzzle in which link to the answer.
